A while back, I post an anti-spam policy and why I think It doesn’t hurt to know that you are stupid! After re-do my blog, I forgot to put the SPAM policy back. I was getting about 40 spam comments every single day. Now it’s time to put the SPAM comment policy back.
Well. Most of you reading my blog already know why people SPAM other people’s blog. It’s primary for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) purpose. Obviously they don’t even check if the link is nofollow or follow link. SPAMMER don’t read my blog. Do you?
I found few very useful WordPress plugin that helps me reduce the spam comment to almost zero! So here they are:
- WP-SpamFree : I am not sure why this plugin is not available on WordPress.org, but this is so far one of the best anti-spam plugin I have used. It also show you some details about the SPAM comments.
- Subscribe To “Double-Opt-In” Comments : Most SPAMMER don’t like to subscribe to the comment. So they simply don’t opt-in to receive the follow up comments. However, it does increase the readership with loyal readers.
- Quiz : After installing this plugin and putting up a very obvious question to distinguish spammers and readers, I haven’t got any spam comments so far. You can see the comment section and see my question. It’s a simple Yes or No question. I guess spammer don’t even bother to answer the question. If they answer yes and still try to spam my blog, they will be banned forever.
Really. I hate SPAM. If they have such free time, they should spend those time on make more $ than spending flooding my site.

I visit blogs, I look at blogrolls and bookmark. each day I visit 100-200 blogs I like reading. I dislike subscriptions and am not interested in getting 1000 notifications/day. In the end I need to work too
PS: love the “SPAM” in your picture. Ate some this summer, pretty nice. Such a pity we don’t have it in Europe.

Well. The SPAM is not really healthy foods. American eat at camp or when they have nothing else to eat.
What took you so long to visit my blog since 2008?

This new improvement of anti-spam really works. I now have zero SPAM for 7 days. The real reader will still stop by and leave their valuable comments and feedback, but none of them are SPAM comment.
