Same old guy in the new era

Finally, I have the guts to give this web site a fresh new looks after many years of boring and un-managed madness of blogging.

The previous delicious blue theme just don’t look good any more. Cluttered with many banner ads and stuff that really make no sense any more. The new Terence Chang in the new era will be focusing on branding. A new and fresh look is a must.

As you can see the old blue theme is just boring, however, it has served the purpose for many years. What got me exciting is the new theme runs faster and I can randomly pick some of my photos and display them in the header with minor code changes in the Theme. I was also able to strip out the side bar from all the static pages. So there is no cluttered side bar for pages like About, Photography and Resources.

As matter of facts, I don’t want to lose the old blog page ranking and content. Moving old content to the new blog will like destroy my search engine ranking and index. As a result of that, I have to install a new copy of WordPress and use the exactly same theme. In this case, I can keep the old URL structure and keep the search engine ranking.

There is downside of this switch. I will have to ask all my subscribers to re-subscribe to my new blog RSS FEED. Even they don’t, I am still ok with it.

The motivation of this switch is to have a better personal branding web site. Since I become a self-made Internet Entrepreneur, I need a better place to show off what I have done and be able to connect with other like minded entrepreneurs better.

So if you are thinking to do better with personal branding, you need to consider change your current blog and do something I do here.
