My House - Before re-paint

This is a photo of my house before re-paint.

In the past few days while my wife is away to Hong Kong. I decided to pick up the phone and call the painters. My wife and I have thought about to re-paint our 10 years old house for almost a year. We are unable to decide the colors for our house. My lazy ass told me that I should have my wife to make decision on the colors, so she won’t have excuses to complaints.

So I am the man now. We are not the first few houses in my community to re-paint the house. However, we are the last few houses to re-paint the house. I decide to give it my best shot and pick the colors that we both like. At the end, it turns out very good. You can see the following photo for my newly painted house. Now, we can live with that nice color for another 10 years before be the man again. :-) The funny things are that my house has the darkest based color, which turns out very good. It looks like the newest house in the whole community. The other house using lighter base color looks old and faded out. I bet my wife will love the new colors.

My House - After re-paint

This is the photo of my house after re-paint. Isn’t that looking good?

It’s a good to work from home. So I get to watch them painting my house. I am very happy about their well done job. Very detail and almost perfect. I still remembered how badly the financial situation we were having when we bought the house. We only have $300 left in our bank account after we put down the down-payment. I was still a mater degree student at that time. My wife worked all the way to save the down-payment for the house. I really appreciate that.

As you can see, I have a dead palm. Personally, I have been trying very hard to keep my yard in control. The deal palm was very well grown until recently. It’s hard to keep it green without water. However, too much water and too less water will both kill the palm. To be honest, doing all the house work was fun, but it’s not as easy as I thought. I designed my yard landscape, plant the trees and put down the pipes myself. I fix my roof with my neighbor’s help. I was having some hard time to get my roof leaking fixed. At the end, everything is working fine.

This reminds me that every occupation require some talents, skills and knowledge. Why am I hiring someone to paint my house? I don’t think I can do any better job than they do even I have all the tools. It’s the same think for my business. I should do whatever I can do the best.

So what do I project myself for the next 10 years? Will there be another house or houses?

I have nice cars, a nice warm house. Material wise, I don’t need anything else. In the past 10 years, we have saved enough with our hard working. In the next 10 years, it’s time to invest more. Let the money do the work for us.

What do you project yourself for the next 10 years?
