I have found in the forums that I belong to that when I talk
about numbers that Alexa puts for example 300,000 in terms of traffic most are unfamiliar with this and are confused
about what Alexa really is.So I tend to agree with john except that I still like to use it!

Who cares about Alexa? Do you every day go to check how much your traffic ranks shows for your website, Nope.
Alexa is worthless system.

Hi Terence – I think many people do still figure Alexa as being important, including advertisers. And many people have found SU to be a useful resource for increasing their Alexa ranking. But I’ve noticed that some bloggers stats have plummeted significantly, so they were obviously putting all their eggs in one basket.

Stumblers don’t seem to hang round so long, but some do return or subscribe, so I think many people will still use SU, but they will probably invest some of their time in other marketing ativities too.

I will still use it. I find better things to read on SU than I do by searching Google.

Thank you for visiting. I think the good quality content will bring those good things together. Otherwise, stumbleUpOn traffic is just a short term solutions. I think you are right. Most stumbleUpOn user don’t care about the Alexa traffic ranking. I had fun with it for a while.

Good for you! I think stumbleUpOn traffic will die down if there is no one thumb up in a period of time. I am still getting stumbleUpOn traffic on some of my pages alone. My test site die down when no one thumb up on it, it’s Alexa ranking drop. Thank you for visiting!

I get quite a bit of StumbleUpon traffic on several of my sites, and none of them decreased after the change. In fact, most improved significantly.

This is an interesting question you’ve posed, but I don’t think many Stumble users care that much about Alexa. You’re assuming that anyone actually cares about Alexa.

I find Stumble traffic to be quite valuable by itself, regardless of any other metrics it may affect. Those visitors can turn into subscribers, click an ad, or just give a thumbs up and bring in more visitors.
