Weekend Confession - We are families
Weekend Confession, Enjoy Life March 31st, 2008
If you were reading my blog for sometimes, you probably already read my previous weekend confession post. My wife and I were working too hard in the past few years. We decided to take out life to the next level and slow down our paces. We would like to enjoy our life a little bit.
We decided to go back to the same place - Fountain Hills, Arizona and have some great time enjoying the sunny afternoon. We pack our camping chair, some water bottles and drove up to the hill. It was amazing that how many people are hanging out together around the lake and have great time.
We are families!
It was funny! When I walked around the lake and tried to find some interesting things to take photo. I heard a young sweet voice behind me saying “Hi Camera Man!” I turned around! A big warm hug just came up to me. I have not even realized who was hugging me. I, then, heard another young voice saying “What is that for?”
The girl in blue dress was the one hugging me. So I have a little chat with them. They were born in the USA. Their parents are original from Iran, the county in the Middle East. In the above blog post header image, you can clearly see their country flag and a lot of people hanging out under the trees near the lake. There are about 10 groups of people like that.

I only have few Middle East friends in my life. They are not as open and happy as those four girls. When I asked the oldest girl for a photo, the other three ran to me and wanted to be in the photo as well. They got very big smiles,which make me very happy too.
To make the story short, the people in the above photos are all relatives. I was amazed how close the whole families are. They hang out together like a group of solders. They unite and stand together. I felt a very strong power and energy between the families. At the end, I gave them my blog URL and ask their parents for permission to post photos on my blog. I hope that they check out the photos. At the end, the girls gave me a big hug one by one and said to me “We are families!” I stood there and did not know what to say to them. They ran away with big giggling. I just love their smiles.
I continued to walk around the lake. There was a life music going on at the central stage of the lake. I saw a familiar face. The drum player in red shirt was asking me for direction on the other side if the lake. He was lost and was trying to find where the concert is. No wonder he was sweating a lot, because he was late.

Anyway, I had a great afternoon and had some interesting stories to tell my wife. She was sitting near by the lake the whole time. Otherwise, she will be in the photo with those girls. When we come back, we are so energized; we hope to hang out at the other lake next time.
There is real life out there without the computer. We should all go out to have some fun with out friends and families. After all, we are all big families!
Life is so short; it’s never too late to enjoy your life.

Open air, clear skies, balmy weather and family with you is a heady mix for a great time anywhere. The Iranis are great family people as are most MEastern peoples. The Iranis however have a great affinity with picnics and open air get togethers. Their weather is more amenable to such activities than the Arabs.

@Dining Tables:
Yeah. I love Phoenix. 300 sun shine days a year. I was not aware of the the culture in M-Eastern countries. It’s amazing how strong they stand together.

Somehow i think it is funny if someone asks for directions to the other side of the lake. I would tell him to go straight forward and hold his breath.

@Matthijs:
That is funny! I did not think about that. That will be a very good April Fool joke to do. Thank you for coming again.
