Play Hard

If you read my blog often, you probably know what type of blogger I am. I want to be a great success Internet Entrepreneur. If you read my last post about Work Hard & Play Hard – My confession of guiltiness, I have been playing very hard lately. In one of my reply to the comment, I said this.

Without working hard, we won’t be able to play hard. Without playing hard, it makes no sense to work hard.

Recently, I spent a lot of time building my new blog as a fun happiness project. I want to create the happiest blog that help other people and remind me how to find happiness, be happy and put up a lot of great smiles.

I am actually work hard and play hard the same time. That’s not enough.

Yesterday, I read a great post about using Flick to travel around the world. That reminds me what my dream is all about. You can read the post at How to Travel the Globe for FREE Using FLICKR. It shows some great photos from the travel around the world. That is a great idea and very inspirational idea to motivate people to work hard and play hard.

As much as I love to travel myself, I took a lot of photo as well. However, I have only been to few countries. My dream is still far away from coming true. In the past two years of my self-motivated entrepreneur journey, I have changed the way I work. I still work hard, but I also play hard. In 2006, my wife and I spent 7 months backpacking between China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In 2007, we spent 3 months on vacation again. Earlier this year, I spent 3 months traveled to Taiwan alone. I have played very hard, because I have changed the way I operate my business and enjoy my life the same time.

So here you goes. Sharing some of the photos I have in the past 8 years. Of course, those are the photos you don’t usually see.

    Beautiful pictures! I agree with you, work hard and have more fun. But sometimes working hard does not always earn you enough to be able to play hard. Efficiency and effectiveness will also help.

  3. Nice to have you back Terence. Lovely photographs as usual too!

    The last eight years for me have been restricted to my home due to some completely unavoidable circumstances. This has not however kept me mentally tied down. I surf the net a lot, read a lot, do four to five cross word puzzles a day, have a lof of visitors dropping in etc. Every evening, I go to a near by joggers’ park, where some of me friends also assemble and we have a great time for a couple of hours, without fail.

    I keep in touch with the world, by the computer, telephone and television. I may be tied down but am not a vegetable!

    I am happy that you are able to travel and see so many places. I did that before my compulsion. I have a lot of memories and someone like you sharing your experiences bring back a lot of joy and good memories. So, keep it up.

    Thank you.

    Man you are a really busy guy! You gotta have some secret powers to create all those blogs ;)
    It’s nice to look at pictures and even nicer to travel abroad. I think I should play less and work harder just for some time, it’s a good idea to work hard and go on vacation once you see some results, a lot of successful people can’t quit working.

    @Matthijs:

    Ecuador sounds like a great place, but I can’t really understand your blog’s language. :-)

    Thank you for stopping by.

    @Sebastian:

    Thank you! Working hard doen’t mean working smart. All those people who are richer than us are working smarter than us.

    @Dinning Table:

    Welcome you back too. You seem to have different type of fun over there. I find myself addicted to Internet and digital photography, which took me a lot of time away from having really life. ;-) Shame on myself. I am trying to cut down my time on the Internet and enjoy afternoon with a cup of coffee. I guess I play too hard on the Internet …. ;-)

    @Sven:

    You said it right. A lot of rich people they drive between home and office. They are afraid to loss their rich status when they walk away for vacation. So they send their wife and kids to place for fun while he stays in the office make money. In many case, the wife find a new love and the kids grew up without a father figure. Too sad, the money won’t even go with him when he die at hard working liver problem. Now their family is fighting for the money he left. ;-)

    I know it sounds kinda weird, but that is one of my favorite spots in CA tahoe. I really like the napa and yellow mountain pics – the latter especially because its a rare type of view into China.

  7. Sahara says:

    Great pictures! I have traveled frequently in the past for a company I used to work for but look forward to the day when I work less and play harder in my own business.

  8. Terence Chang says:

    @Rich:

    I like Tahoe very much. I will revisit again in Summer. There are a lot more awesome photos I took while I travel. That’s how I take break for some enjoyment. Thank you for visit.

    @Shara:

    We all need to enjoy our life from time to time. Working hard won’t get your anywhere to play hard unless you take a break! Thank you for visiting. I hope you get your long vacation soon.

  9. Maybe i should translate my site one day.

  10. Mark says:

    Hi Terence – what great photos! This post is waking up my inner travel bug :)

  11. Terence Chang says:

    @Matthijs Hofstede:

    At least, please tell me what language is that. I tried to translate to English, but I am not sure what language to translate from. Thx!

    @Mark:

    You gave me the inspiration. I should add some more description to my photo on Flickr. ;-)
