This post title was once on my blog tagline for just two days. I started this blog few years ago in 2003, after I got my own domain name back. I was never doing very well with my blog. It was all about my life, my IT experience, my tips and tricks about the computer programs, web development, the foods I ate and the travel photos I took.
Ever since I worked so hard as a chief architect at my ex-company, I did not update this blog until early May 2007. At that moment, the blogging was already booming. Especially for people who wants to make money off their blog. I was also one of them. However, I was not really impressed by the outcome of my blog. I made only few bulks in three months.
I need to thank many of you!
If you read my blog all the time, you pretty much see that I am giving my blog another try. I have been adding some advertisement links on my blog, including my own e-commerce stores. I have restarted my blog from nothing to something.
I wanted to transform my blog into a place, which people can learn from my experience as a successful man and a happy man. In addition to my own e-commerce business, I want to share my experience on how to make money online with blog. I have learned a lot from many probloggers, readers and Internet marketers. I have to thank many of my readers who inspired me and who gave me a great example about “you can be who you want to be“.
In the past few weeks, I did make some small amount of money off my blog as a great re-start gift. To avoid my mistakes I made few years ago with Google AdSense, I have not done anything wrong with all of the stuff on my blog this time. I am seeing my advertisement income growing already.
For those who want to make money off their blog, here is my suggestion.
- Keep your blog schedule.
- Create good quality content
- Choose your advertiser carefully
- Plan your ad placement creatively
- Join high quality affiliate program
- Don’t ever click on the advertisement link on your own blog
- Don’t force your reader to click
- Visit your own blog as a reader
Personally, I don’t think you need to have advertisement everywhere; you just need some decent ads!
How much do I make?
All I can say is that my investment on the hosting, domain name and anything that runs this blog is already covered and still makes some profit.
