The photo brought back my memory - Million dollar craw fish dream
Motivation, Entrepreneur, Travel, Blah Blah Blah November 15th, 2007
I was uploading my travel photos yesterday after upgrading to Flickr Pro account. I realized that how many priceless photos I have taken. I used my very old 3.3MP Sony digital camera for the entire photo shooting for over 6 years before I got my new Nikon D70S digital camera almost two years ago.
Now, I had a weird dream last night. I saw a gigantic craw fish sitting in front of my desk asking me how it can become a low cholesterol millionaire.
A craw fish wants to become a millionaire with low cholesterol?
It’s was not a nightmare, but it definitely woke me up. I guess I was eating too many craw fishes in New Olean in 2006. Just almost about 6 years ago, my wife and I took a three weeks road trip driving from Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas to New Olean. It was one of my best vacations.
In the restaurant (I can’t remember the name) near New Olean. I had the best craw fish meal in my life. The owner claims they are the number one craw fish restaurant in the world. It did taste so great! I have never had any craw fish that good after that. I guess I should go back to that place and have some 15 pounds more of craw fishes. Yes. As you can see in the above picture, it’s a 5 pound giant dish. My wife and I had 3 dishes. After eating all those cute craw fishes, we were back on track to Houston.

Ok! We finish the dishes.
Back to my dream, I think I saw these pictures last night while uploading the photos. I still have thousand pictures to upload. I totally believe the dream is a warning sign to me. It is warning me that I have to keep in a good shape and health condition to enjoy my life.
I have been eating so much junk food and gain so much weight in the past few years. I was like living in the heaven. I eat what I want to eat. I drink two 2 liter bottle of regular Pepsi every day. I ate a lot of cheese and no limited on chocolate.
Now I am cutting down all those junk foods and eat less sea foods. Now I realize that why those richer people eat less and eat elegantly. When you were richer from the poor, you think you are rich. So you ate everything. When you become richer and richer, you suddenly realize that health is the most important think in your life. Money is no longer the dream you are chasing for. You realize that you might just spend all your money on your health care and medical bills.
So if you are thinking about becomes a richer man, you need to know how to take care of your body. Don’t let money dream kill yourself. You may live happy with a health body, but you may stay in the bed with billion dollars in the bank.
Which one do you like?

Very interesting perspective on eating habits. I have never been able to eat a crawfish, I had to dissect one in high school and that ruined it for me.

@hanafi:
I thought the same way as you do a long time ago. I wished to be rich so I can eat as much sea foods as I can. I have ate a lot of sea foods, because I had some money to spend.
However, my thoughts have changed from time to time. A luxury foods or living style can’t no longer make me happy. I realize that enjoy my life with a health body is the most important things. Now, I have spent more money on helping people living in a better healthy life than on eating in the expensive restaurant. I joint charity and deliver foods to poor people.
Now I am happier. I have a dream to be able to travel around the world and help those poor people living better. I think I am getting closer.

I can’t wait to look at your travel pictures. I’m sure you have alot of nice shots. Sometimes I regret for not taking enough pictures on my own. I have traveled for work and miss seeing places outside the offices and hotels.
I choose health to wealth. I eat healthy when I am home. My husband shared that I eat sticks, twigs (Chinsese herbs) and weeds (vegetables). After starting my early career in the US, I gained 10 pounds eating out in 1 year. My total cholesterol went up for the first time and the doctor wanted to put me on prescription drugs. I refused and started to take non-flush niacin on my own.
I think the culprit for elevated LDL and triglyceride in my case are cheese, bread, pizza, steak, baby ribs, eggs, fried food, cookies and desserts. The hydrogenated oil used to make cookies and some desserts are transfats which our body have problem breaking up the fatty chains. Transfat is the worst of all fats.
I love seafood but the choices we have are oysters, lobsters, fish and shrimps. Fresh crabs or crawl fish are hard to find at where I live. I eat alot of fish and some shrimps which I don’t think have any effect on my cholesterol.
My glucose level was on the borderline and I find cinnamon and bitter stuff have helped me maintain a healthy sugar level.
Yes, I want to be healthy to enjoy many things in this world rather than having all the money in the world to be bedridden and spend on healthcare.

My triglyceride is high. I guess I ate too much junk food and sea foods. I realized that I need to have a better healthy body to enjoy my travel. I would like to climb to the top of the K2 mountain some days! Well. Maybe some days!

According to what I have researched, the main culprit for high triglyceride is refined carb or simple carb. Prescription drugs may have side effects and need to monitor the condition of the liver regularly.
I like adventure but not as adventurous to try K2. I read that some people have lost their lives in the climb. I’m also not sure of the social-political situation of the region. Hopefully it is safe.
Yes, the name of the game is to be healthy.

I believe when people getting older, the care more about their health. I watch weather channel (report) every night before I go to sleep. I think that is one of the sign of getting older.
