Blog power has united! Blog action day for our only earth!
Blah Blah Blah October 8th, 2007After reading the laidback buddhist’s post “Power of One” about “WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF EVERY BLOG PUBLISHED POSTS ON THE SAME TOPIC, ON THE SAME DAY?” I decided to join the game and promote the blog action about “Environment.”
What about the environment?
We only have one earth and one life. If we don’t play safe and protect the only thing we can live on, we will all become skeleton pretty soon. As blogger, we all share the same responsibility to protect our families, relatives, friends and so to our only earth. It’s the blog action day to talk about environment. Especially help protecting out earth and let our off-springs enjoy the beautiful blue planet.
So what will I do to promote this action?
- Write a blog about environment
- Encourage your friend to write a post about it
- Make a YouTube video about your environment protection plan
- Asking your friends not to subscribe paper magazine, news paper and read only electronic book (e-book)
- Use less tissue papers
Anyway, if you have blog and you want to join us, please register your blog here and keep up your post about this action. The earth is a clean place. It needs out attention!
What are you waiting for?

I am currently running a month-long blogging campaign on environment-related matters, which had begun on Sept 15th, and will conclude on Oct 15th in conjunction with Blog Action Day. And I’d like to invite you to participate in the campaign.
Perhaps you have some tips or experience you’d like to share?

I like how you broke it down into bullets! By the way, don’t forget to register to commit your blog (http://blogactionday.org/commit), perhaps you should add that to your bullets.

There are other probably we can contributes :
- When you buy things in the store, don’t ask for plastic beg if you can hand carry stuff.
- If a plastic given to you, reuse this plastic for other means such as pack rubbish…
- Use rechargeable battery instead of non-recycle type
- If you have electronic rubbish e.g. used computer, hand phone, etc, donate or resell then to others
- Don’t dump used non-recycle type battery in common rubbish bin. Collect them and sent them to special collection unit for safe disposal
- Read e-book. Review & comment on the electronic paper instead of hard copy
- Use recycle paper for draft works

@Keeyit:
I would love to see your post up. There are many things we can do to protect our environment. Many things are ignored by our day to day life. Good to see more people joining us.

@WebWorm:
Great list! I really hope to see more on your blog. I find it hard to recycle the computers and cell phone. No one wants the old one in the city I am living in.
Thank you for stopping by!

@Terence Chang,
There is 2nd hand computer reseller in my country. This is the place you can dispose your used computer (of course it should be working and not too ‘Old’).
May be you can think of to dispose them to charity body. They have the way to “handle” you stuff.
I have posted earlier…

Not sure if this works in your country…
I have been to Korea & Taiwan. I like the practices in Supermarket / MALL.
In Korea, you have to bring you own plastic bed when you buy stuff in the Mall.
In Taiwan, when you buy disposable battery, you have to exchang it with used disposable battery.
I LOVE this practices…

@webworm:
That’s a great practice in Taiwan. I almost forgot about it. I just found out that there is a local high school event every year in my state. They collect the old computers, rebuild them and send them to South Africa. I need to dig into this more.
Thanks!

Thanks for participating in the environment action. The earth needs all the help it can get. You could donate old computers to non-profit or after-school programs and donate old phones to shelters or medical clinics. Poor people and some kids would benefit from the equipment and re-use would keep the toxic tech materials out of the dump.

@nextBillionaire:
You are right. Many poor people don’t even have phone. With a little help, we can all make their life easier and save the environment. Great tips! Thanks!
