Review my blog October 2007 - one step closer to be a billionaire
Motivation, Opportunity, Entrepreneur, Business October 3rd, 2007In August, I post “Review my blog August 2007 - What have I learned?” I realize that it’s two months already. It’s time to give my blog another review. In the past two months, I have traveled to Hong Kong and China. I was not very active on my blog.
So what did I do in the past two months? Have I learned something?
Let’s take a look at what my blog have now.
- My Alexa traffic ranking is now 110,824. It drops from almost 90k down to 110k again.
- My Google page ranking has not changed.
- My primary referral link is Google search engine.
- My traffic is down to 100 unique visitors and 200 page views per day.
- My Technorati authority is up to 173.
- My RSS feed increase to 80. It was up and down between 60 and 80.
- My E-Mail subscription is down to 6.
- My blog makes no profit.
What does that mean to me?
I realized that how important it is to keep up blogging. It will take a lot of energy and effort to get back on track. Since I was traveling to oversea, I really have no time and energy to blog like I used to. I have also made zero money off my blog. So all this number listed above makes no sense to me any more.
What have I learned in the past two months?
There is not much to learn about my blog. I have learned that many viewers of mine have made huge progress in their blog life. Many of them have made some decent money off their blog. Many of them have gain so much traffic like they expected. It’s very good for them and I am so happy that they achieve their goal.
Have I wasted time in the past two months?
As you already know that I have spent so much time dig into the business relationship with Chinese manufacture. I have learned a lot on the business side. My primary incoming source is the e-commerce and online store. Now. I am more likely become the expert on importing goods from China. Doing online business help me make serious money online. What I have also learned in the past is that opening a new product lines or online e-commerce store is not difficult at all. The difficult part is to keep it running and be able to take the growing pain. As long as you can take on the new business challenge, you can survive in this fast growing business.
I don’t think I have ever wasted time away from blog. I believe that the balance between time investment and money investment are the key point to calculate my success. In the past months, I have proved what I have said earlier. Why make money online with blog is not right for me?
What is my goal for the next two months?
I really want to spend more time on write blog. I really like to share my life experience and help my viewer success in their life. After all, I will get one step closer to my goal. I am almost a billionaire!

You sound like a real entrepreneur. When I sold my business, Business Opportunities Digest, the new owner, 10 years later, folded. He did not adapt to the new internet trend, eBusiness. Looks like you are not going to make that same mistake.

@Jack Payne:
Thank you for stopping by. That’s right. Internet is the best tool for business regardless what business you are doing. A true entrepreneur should know better about their weak point and make change to avoid mistake. We all made mistake, but we need to make sure we don’t make same mistake twice.

Thanks! One way to motivate myself is to see people motivated by me.
Ha! I am way far away from being a Billionaire, but I have the billionaire mind-set. You read my reasons at Terence Chang - Almost A Billionaire.
No. I don’t run warehouse myself at this moment. All my products are drop shipped. I have very good relationship with the supplier and I pick them very carefully. I sure will write about it later.
Thank you. Do you have blog that you can share with all my viewers?

Thanks for sharing your experience Terence.
I too sense some rather bizarre behaviour when I stop making posts for an extended period of time–I notice that my AdSense revenue actually goes up…. and on a couple of occasions, the traffic shot up, too.
Strange, but true. Maybe we ought not to suffocate our blogs with too many posts???

@Zakman:
Without the updated content on your blog, your viewer will leave and hardly coming back. My traffic is just up and down. I got most of the traffic from Google search engine, which is indeed a good thing.
Thank you for stopping by!

Thanks for inspirational blog. I am very interested in reliable drop shippers. Finding reliable drop shipper is key. Please tell us more. Please give your recommendations for drop shippers.

@nextBillionaire:
Thank you for your kind words. There are thousands drop shippers out there. It’s hard to recommend based on the industries I am dealing with. One way to find out is to attend the trade show in your niche. Ask questions, get catalog and see how their ordering system works. It’s very important to make sure they are NOT the secondary distributors. I always deal with the tier 1 distributor or manufacture.
Many secondary distributors pretend they are the manufactures and spend huge money on advertisement and trade show to make you believe them. Check out where their warehouse and manufacture factory are located. Ask few more companies, selling the same thing (nearly identical), the same questions. You might be surprised that who is telling the truth.
Many drop shipper are just the licensed distributors. So don’t get fooled. I should write about this in the future. Thanks!

Hey Terence
Great post , yea it is hard to find out good supplier
and we can get fooled easily ? Do you have websites for the supplier you use ? That would be cool to check it out

@Gov:
There are many supplier I use. It’s really hard to find a good one who is really close to the manufactures. Just don’t fool by what their web site says.
