Should I monetize my blog? It’s never too late to make money online.
Blog, Success story, Business, Blah Blah Blah July 14th, 2007Well. I was a little bit hesitate to monetize my blog. Not because I don’t want to, I don’t really like some blog or web site, which are full of Google AdSense. I felt annoyed by those sites for just making money. They don’t think about their viewer. Recently, I was encouraged by the blog “One Mans Goal 365 Days… One Goal… Can I Do It“. He encourage me to put advertisement.
Should I monetize my blog?
Although I don’t like some web sites with a lot of the Ads on their page, I don’t mind to read their pages. There are many people work full time to make profit on their web site. For me, it’s a hard money. You have to keep up posting new content and more importantly good quality content. Otherwise, you will get no traffic. It means no revenue.
I just sign up Adbrite. You might see some Ad on my page. I hope it’s not too ugly.
The reason that I pick Adbrite is that many of my friends make more revenue on AdBrite than Google AdSense. It gives you the freedome to choose Text Ads, Banner Ads, or Interstitials. Now, they also offer customized Video Ads, which could be more attractive to the viewers.
Wish me good luck. I don’t expect to make huge money, because I am doing blog for living. It’s my personal blog anyway.
By the way, I really like “One Mans Goal” web site. It’s clean. He has huge ambition to make profit on his blog in one year. Good luck to him. You can see his last revenue update on his blog.

I think you must monetize. The amount of effort one puts in a blog must be rewarded and if you get to earn money then there is no harm

Thank you. I don’t mind to make some extra money on my personal blog. Who will mind that? I just don’t want people to get annoyed by the Ads on the site. I will learn how to properly put the Ads.
Just saw your nice site using contentLink. Do you think ContentLink is much better than AdBrite?
Thanks!

Thanks for the shoutout Terence. It’s only with help from more experienced bloggers (such as yourself) that I could even come close to this ambitious goal.
I appreciate all the help, advice, and the guest post!

@ Terence : nops I will take off this kontera. It’s just not the best of the network. The pay per click payout is very less. Kontera can get you good money only if you get very good amount of traffic.

Thanks! Good to know about Kontera. I will stick with AdBrite for few weeks. I think that it doesn’t matter which Ads provider you pick, you will still need good traffic.
